More than just history

Clay County Heritage Center – Opened in July 2012. It features the:

  • Dvergsten Gallery
  • South Gallery
  • Gift Shop
  • Bob Keir Meeting Room
  • Rotary Research Room

Exhibitions are displayed in the Heritage Center in both the Dvergsten Gallery and South Gallery. A permanent exhibit, “This Land We Call Home – Settling Clay County” is currently in the Dvergsten Gallery while the South Gallery switches exhibits annually.

Clay County Heritage boasts a large, vast collection of artifacts that are stored in the Heritage Center. Genealogists and other researchers are welcome to visit the Heritage Center and peruse our Rotary Research room and Archive Library.

Come view 11 beautifully decorated trees in our South Gallery from November 17th - December 17th.  These trees are available to bid on a virtual Silent Auction, which ends 6 PM on Friday, December 4th. This exhibition from Siouxland Heritage Museum in Sioux Falls explores the life of a Plains American Indian through their home, the Tipi.  Come visit this exhibit at the Heritage Center from January 12 - May 15, 2021.
